How to use the Dropbox integration to add files to deals

To be able to upload files to deals you have to own a Dropbox account. Base will integrate with Dropbox and allow you to upload files (.doc, .pdf, .jpg, etc.) and connect them with a deal in Base. 


Dropbox is a Web-based file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that uses cloud storage to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization. Please visit Dropbox site for more information


Navigate to Settings > Integrations > select "Enable"

Next you will be asked to grant Base access to Dropbox. If you aren't signed in to Dropbox already, please do so.

You will be redirected to your deal, and your Base account is connected with Dropbox.  To add files to your deal, click the "Create Dropbox Folder for this deal" button".

After creating the Dropbox folder, Base will show you the path where you can deposit your files.  Every deal for which you create a Dropbox folder will contain two elements: the deal ID and the deal name.

IMPORTANT: While you can change the deal name either in Base or on the folder itself, you must leave the deal ID intact. The deal ID is how Base recognizes which folder to show files from. If the deal ID is altered in any way, your files won't show up in Base.


For each deal a separate folder will be created. Base deal folders will always be created under the folder path /apps/Base CRM/Deals/[DealID] [Deal Name]


To be able to see a file on the deal page you have to upload it to Dropbox first.  If you have Dropbox installed on your computer, you can easily deposit the files through your Finder or Explorer window.  You can also upload the files via

Once your files have been uploaded to Dropbox by your method of choice, you can view and download them directly from your deal in Base! Navigate to a Deal, scroll down to find the Dropbox section located at the bottom right of the page

IMPORTANT : Please note that you can't upload files from Base. Currently it's only possible to upload files through Dropbox and then this file is accesible on your Base account. 


If you want to disable your Dropbox integration, you'll need to first disable the application in your Base Integrations Settings menu.

Next, go to your Dropbox app settings.  Click the "x" to the right of Base CRM on your My Apps list.

A pop up box will ask you to confirm your choice to remove Base CRM permissions from your Dropbox account. You'll also be given the option to keep the files in the Base CRM folder. If you don't check the box, your files will be deleted from Dropbox.
